Ever wonder what you would do in the event of an active shooter?

This course trains responsible concealed-carry holders and responsible civilians to recognize, decide, and act during an active shooter or hostile event — while also giving clear, practical options for unarmed people (teachers, staff, bystanders). The curriculum blends FEMA/DHS “Run, Hide, Fight” principles with CCW-appropriate tactics, communication with responding law enforcement , legal considerations, basic trauma care, and realistic scenario work. Emphasis is on sound decision-making, risk mitigation, and preserving life.

what will be covered:

• Recognize pre-attack indicators and environmental vulnerabilities.

• Make rapid, prioritized decisions under stress (when to flee, when to hide, when to engage).

• Apply CCW-appropriate movement, cover/concealment, threat assessment, and use-of-force decision frameworks.

• Communicate effectively with responding law enforcement and bystanders to reduce misidentification risk.

• Perform immediate lifesaving actions (basic hemorrhage control / Stop the Bleed basics and advanced trauma management (TECC)

• Integrate unarmed survival options appropriate for teachers, staff, and other civilians.

• Understand legal liabilities, reporting, documentation, and after-action responsibilities.

Liability and ethical statement:

• This course emphasizes life preservation and lawful conduct. Armed engagement is taught only as a last-resort option; the course does not encourage vigilantism. Participants should consult local laws and their own legal counsel for jurisdiction-specific fight-or-flight/use-of-force questions.
